Crossley Tabbed as Hockey East Rookie of the Month for December

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Rookie defender Alexis Crossley (Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team earned the title of Hockey East Rookie of the Month for December as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.

Crossley notched four points on a goal and three assists through the four games of December, tallying one point in each contest, all of which were against teams ranked in the top-10 nationally. Against ninth-ranked Northeastern, the blueliner assisted on a goal in the first game as well as the second game and recorded five shots through the two games. In the final game of the regular-season series against No. 6 Boston College, Crossley tallied New Hampshire's only goal of the game, coming on a power play. Wrapping up 2012, she extended her point-streak to four games with an assist against No. 4 Harvard.

Currently, Crossley shares the team lead in points (13), registering six goals and seven assists. She is tied for 18th in points per game by a defensemen (0.65), 19th in the nation in power play goals (4) and is 22nd in the country in points per game by freshmen.

The Wildcats will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 15 when they travel to Union College for the final non-conference game of the season. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
