Two UNH Wildcats Named Regional All-Americans

DURHAM, N.H. -- Colleen Christopher (Newington, N.H), a junior midfielder on the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, was named to the Brine/IWLCA North Regional All-America First Team over the weekend. Teammate Stephanie Keefe (Newton, Mass.) was voted to the Second Team. With her selection to the First Team, Christopher now advances to the pool of candidates for the national All-America team.

Christopher, whose other postseason honors include America East All-Conference First Team and America East All-Championship Team, led the conference in goals (2.69 gpg) and was sixth in points (2.75 per game) this season. She netted a team-high 44 goals and also topped the team in points (45), caused turnovers (56) and draw controls (29); her 44 goals was the fifth-best single-season mark in the program's history. Christopher, a starter in all 17 games, ranked third in ground balls (44). In 49 career games, she has amassed 81 goals (13th all-time) and 86 points (19th all-time).

Keefe, a senior attack and co-captain who was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team this season, was second on the team in goals (37), assists (seven) and points (44); she was the seventh highest-scoring player in America East (2.69 ppg). Keefe registered a team-best 59 ground balls and also led the team in both game-winning goals (three) and free position goals (18). Keefe leaves the UNH program ranked 15th on the all-time scoring list with 102 points on 77 goals and 25 assists; she is 16th in both goals and assists.

UNH ended the season with a 7-10 overall record. The Wildcats advanced to the America East Championships (for the third consecutive season), where they were defeated by 10th-ranked Boston University, 18-7.
