BOSTON, Mass. - Colleen Christopher (Newington, N.H), a senior assistant captain and midfielder on the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, was named Player of the Week by America East on Monday.
Christopher recorded 11 points last week with eight goals and three assists in victories against Holy Cross and Towson. She netted three goals and assisted on another against Holy Cross, then had five tallies and two helpers vs. Towson. Christopher potted her eight goals on 13 shots for a .615 shooting percentage. Her contributions were not limited to the scoring column. She had three ground balls and three draw controls against Holy Cross and had a game-high six draw controls vs. Towson.
Christopher leads the Wildcats in both goals (37) and points (44) and is second in assists (seven). She also has a team-best 27 caused turnovers and is tied for the team lead in draw controls (24). Those numbers rank her first in America East in both goals and caused turnovers as well as third in scoring.
In her career, Christopher has 115 goals and 12 assists for 127 points. She is ranked fourth on the program's all-time goals list and is tied for seventh on the career points list.
New Hampshire (8-4) returns to action April 18 (7 p.m.) at Boston College. The next Wildcat home game is April 21 against Stanford University. Game time at Memorial Field is 1 p.m.
