No. 14 UNH lacrosse felled by No. 10 Dartmouth, 13-3

HANOVER, N.H. - The 10th-ranked Dartmouth College women's lacrosse team erased a 2-1 deficit with 11 consecutive goals to defeat the University of New Hampshire, 13-3, Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.

UNH, which recorded an 8-5 road victory against the College of the Holy Cross earlier in the week, is now 1-1 on the season. Dartmouth, winners of 11 consecutive meetings in this intrastate series, is 1-0.

The Big Green took a 1-0 lead at 6:57 on a goal by Annie Leibovitz (three goals, assist) but fell behind 2-1 on Wildcat tallies by Laura Dosdall (Wellesley, Mass.) and Katie Leland (Timonium, Md.) at 8:57 and 10:30, respectively; both players also recorded an assist to finish with two points.

DC's Kristen Barry evened the score, 2-2, 59 seconds later, however, and Kateianne Christian (four goals) gave the home team a lead it would not relinquish at 12:43.

Dartmouth closed the half with four more goals to build a 7-2 halftime lead, then opened the second half with three goals in a four-minute span to increase the margin to 10-2. The lead grew to double digits, 12-2, before UNH's Jill Albee (Pembroke, N.H.) scored with 13:18 remaining in the game.

UNH starting goalie Stacey Plati (Nashua, N.H.) played the initial 33:59 of the game. She exited with four saves and the 'Cats facing a 10-2 deficit. Ashley Milley (Sudbury, Mass.) was also credited with four saves in playing the last 26:01 of action and she allowed three goals. DC goalie Devon Wills stopped 13 of 16 shots on goal.

New Hampshire returns to action for its March 9 home opener vs. Yale. Game time at Memorial Field is 3p.m.
