DURHAM, N.H.Ashley Durepo (Concord, N.H.), a sophomore midfielder on the University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team, was named America East Player of the Week on Monday.

Durepo recorded team highs in both goals (six) and points (seven) to lead UNH to one-goal victories against both UMass (11-10) and UMBC (10-9) last week. She factored into five of the Wildcats’ last six goals against UMass by assisting on the team’s sixth goal (to tie the game 6-6 late in the first half), then gave the ‘Cats three one-goal leads and scored what proved to be the game-winning goal when she gave UNH an 11-9 lead at 4:01. With UNH ahead 11-10 in the closing minute, Durepo secured the victory by collecting a ground ball with 41 seconds remaining. The four goals tied her career high and the five points established a career high.

In the road game vs. UMBC, Durepo recorded two goals, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Her first tally tied the game 1-1 early in the opening half, and her other goal gave the Wildcats a 9-8 lead at 9:57 of the second half.

Durepo has recorded at least one point in all seven games this season and has totals of 12 goals and four assists for 16 points on the season. She ranks first on the team with two game-winning goals and is third in points and goals as well as tied for second in assists. Furthermore, she is tied for the team lead in both ground balls and draw controls, and is tied for second in caused turnovers.

In 25 career games, Durepo has 31 goals and eight assists for 39 points.

A UNH Wildcat has been honored as the league’s Player of the Week twice this season, and the ‘Cats have received a total of five league awards this year.

New Hampshire (4-3-0, 1-0-0 AE) returns to action March 28 at home vs. Hofstra University. Game time at Memorial Field is 3 p.m.
