WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS ARMY, 4-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team scored three first half goals en route to a 4-1 victory over Army on Saturday evening at Clinton Field. Four different players scored goals for New Hampshire. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 3-9 on the season.

Jess Halas scored the games opening goal just 4:39 into the contest. Kristin Kearney's conversion of a thru pass from Jennifer Martin in the 30th minute proved to be the game winner.

Insurance tallies were provided by Melissa Hanke and Farrell Swain. Swain also picked up an assist in the contest.

Senior Stephanie Springer has a stellar game with 17 saves. Sara Johnson stopped ten shots for the Cadets.

The 'Cats return home next Friday (10/13) when they face Vermont in an America East matchup. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
