Jackie Wishoski

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Jackie Wishoski (Malden, Mass.) scored with 6:05 remaining in the second half to lift the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team into Sunday afternoon's 2-2 tie against Fresno State University in the final round of the Nike Invitational Tournament at Oregon State's Lorenz Field at Valley Stadium.

UNH is now 1-2-1 overall while FSU is 0-3-1.

Wishoski netted her team-leading third goal of the season when she beat FSU goalkeeper Jeannette Paine in a 1-v-1 move following a lead pass from teammate Chiara Best (Rose Valley, Pa.); both Wishoski and Best were selected to the OSU/Nike All-Tournament Team. That goal tied the game 2-2 at 83:55 and neither goalkeeper was beaten the rest of the way, including both 10-minute overtime sessions, and the match ended in a draw despite UNH's 22-12 shot advantage.

Wildcat goalkeeper Liz MacKay (Scituate, Mass.) was credited with six saves, two of which came in the extra sessions, while Paine stopped eight shots defending the FSU cage.

UNH took a 1-0 lead late in the first half when Ashlee Cieslak (Greendale, Wisc.) scored an unassisted goal at 44:57. Cortney Sobrero netted goals in the 63rd and 76th minutes to give FSU a 2-1 advantage.

Wishoski now has 26 career goals, which ranks No. 4 on UNH's all-time list, while Best is No. 8 on the program's all-time assist list with 12. Best and Wishoski are tied at No. 4 with 58 career points.

The Wildcats return to action when they play their home opener Sept. 9 vs. intrastate rival Dartmouth College. Game time at Lewis Fields is 4 p.m.
