UNH women's soccer falls to Northeastern in OT, 2-1

BOSTON -- Jessie Haidamaka scored in the 102nd minute to lift the Northeastern University women's soccer team to Sunday afternoon's 2-1 overtime victory against the University of New Hampshire.

UNH fell to 6-6-2 overall and 2-2-0 in America East while Northeastern improved to 9-3-2.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead at 26:11 when Adriana Gonzalez-Medina (Bainbridge, Wash.) tapped in a rebound.

New Hampshire took that 1-0 lead into halftime, but the Huskies tied the score 1-1 in the 64th minute when Kristen Kowalik blasted a shot into the net from 20 yards. Regulation and the first 10-minute overtime session ended in the 1-1 tie and Haidamaka tapped the ball into an open net at 101:16 to give NU the win.

UNH goalkeeper Lynn Gugliuzza (Kenmore, N.Y.) finished with five saves, including one in overtime. NU's Mariel Wilner stopped seven shots.

UNH returns to action at home Oct. 15 vs. the University of Vermont. Game time at Bremner Field is 7 p.m.
