DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team (5-10-0) fell to No. 20 Dartmouth College (10-3-1), 2-0, on Senior Day at Lewis Field on Wednesday afternoon.
    In a match up of intrastate rivals, Dartmouth’s senior forward Sarah Johnson made a quick pass to senior forward Emily Tracy who scored the game-winning goal at 70:30 on a hard shot from 15 yards out that found the back left corner of the net for her third goal of the season. The Big Green added a huge insurance goal minutes later at 77:11 when senior midfielder Megan Wijas delivered a shot from 25-yards out and into the upper left corner of the net.
    Despite the two goals, senior goalkeeper Lynn Gugliuzza (Kenmore, N.Y./Kenmore) registered another impressive outing with nine saves on the day. Big Green goalkeeper Laurel Peak registered her tenth shutout of the season.
    Dartmouth’s stingy defense limited the Wildcats to just three shots on the afternoon, while the Dartmouth offense notched 15 in the win.
    Wildcat seniors Lia Barros (Sammamish, Wash.), co-captain Kelly Collins (Bedford, N.H.), co-captain Hillary Mefferd (Portland, Ore.), Amanda Wiggins (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Jackie Wishoski (Malden, Mass.) and Gugliuzza were honored at the start of the contest for Senior Day as the six teammates close out their last regular season home contest.
    The ‘Cats travel to University at Albany on Sunday (Oct. 22) for a crucial America East Conference match which will have major post season implications. The scheduled start is set for 1:00 p.m.
