DURHAM, N.H. – Senior midfielder Hillary Mefferd (Portland, Ore.) was named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Division 1 Team for her efforts on the soccer field. It was announced on Friday.
    Mefferd, who garnered All-America East Second Team honors in 2006 made all 18 starts for the Wildcats and was a tri-captain for a team that made the postseason for a league best sixth straight appearance.
    “It’s truly an honor to be recognized along with the regions elite soccer players and this is a well deserved honor for her. It’s nice to see all of her hard work, leadership and consistency pay off with this honor,” said Wildcat head coach Michael Jackson.
    Mefferd has compiled five assists in her career and was named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll on a number of occasions throughout her four-year career. She was named to the America East All-Conference First Team in 2004 along with capturing America East All-Rookie honors in 2003. She has made 69 career starts for the Wildcats and majors in business.
