KANSAS CITY, Kan. - For the third consecutive year, the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team has received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year, the NSCAA announced Tuesday.
Out of over 1600 eligible institutions, 329 teams were honored, and the Wildcats were one of five America East women's squads to be recognized. Teams qualified for the award based on a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. For UNH, the team accumulated a GPA of 3.20 to garner the award for the fifth time in the last six years.
The men's soccer squad also earned the honor for the third straight year, making UNH one of just 97 institutions to have both of their soccer teams recognized.
