DURHAM, N.H. – After clinching the third seed for the America East Championship, the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team will host Stony Brook Thursday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. The game is set to take place at Lewis Fields.
New Hampshire has qualified for post-season play for the 12th consecutive year, extending its own conference record after wrapping up the 2012 regular season with an overall record of 5-11-2 and an America East record of 3-4-1. Stony Brook comes into the match as the sixth seed with an overall record of 9-6-3 and a conference tally of 3-4-1.
In the most recent outing between the two teams, Stony Brook edged the Wildcats by a score of 1-0 in a heartbreaking double overtime loss. New Hampshire netminder Erica Correa (Cheshire, Conn.) made eight saves on the nine shots she faced in the effort.
The winner of Thursday's contest will face the second-seeded University of Maine at Alumni Field in Orono, Maine in the semifinal round.
