DURHAM, N.H. – Head coach Sam Lopes of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team has announced the schedule for the 2013 season. The slate will feature eight contests at home, eight on the road, and two at neutral sites.
The team travels to the University of Vermont for a pair of neutral site games to start the season. The first game is set for Friday, Aug. 23 (1:30 p.m.) against Colgate while the second game will take place on Sunday, Aug. 25 (11 a.m.) against Sacred Heart. New Hampshire then returns to Wildcat Country for its home opener against Providence. The game is set for Friday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m.
The Wildcats kick off September on the road at the University of Rhode Island. Kickoff is set for Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. UNH will then return home for a pair of contests. The Wildcats will host Northeastern Thursday, Sept. 5 (7 p.m.) and UMass on Sunday, Sept. 8 (1 p.m.).
New Hampshire is back on the road for three-consecutive games the following week, traveling to Harvard, Bryant and Holy Cross. The 'Cats take on the Crimson Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. and then the Bulldogs Friday, Sept. 20 at 3 p.m. New Hampshire concludes the road slate Wednesday, Sept. 25 against the Crusaders (7 p.m.). UNH caps off the month with a home tilt against Binghamton on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. The match is the first America East contest of the season for the 'Cats.
October starts off with a home contest featuring Albany. The game is set for Thursday, Oct. 3 at 3:30 p.m. UNH is back on the road on Sunday, Oct. 6 (2 p.m.) as the team travels to Hartford for an afternoon contest. New Hampshire will return home and take a break from conference action when it hosts Dartmouth on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
UNH is back on the road and resumes conference action on Sunday, Oct. 13 when it travels to Vermont for a 1 p.m. game. Returning home, the Wildcats will host the newest addition to the America East Conference, UMass Lowell. The game is set for Thursday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. The 'Cats will honor their seniors on Sunday, Oct. 20 as the squad hosts the University of Maine in the final home game of the season. The match is set for 1 p.m.
The Wildcats will finish out the season on the road, traveling to Stony Brook and UMBC. New Hampshire will play the Seawolves Thursday, Oct. 24 (7 p.m.) and conclude the regular season against the Retrievers on Sunday, Oct. 27 (1 p.m.).
