BOSTON, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team had first place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes and the 50-yard freestyle but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to Boston University, 158-141, and Northeastern, 175-124, this Saturday.
To open up the day, the relay team of Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ont.), Evelyn Yuen (Princeton, N.J.), Deanna Petchonka (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Allison Nahin (Hartland, Wisc.) had a first place time of 1:49.25 in the 200-yard medley, just nine-tenths of a second in front of Northeastern.
Perrault then went on to sweep the backstroke events, placing first in the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes with times of 58.33 and 2:06.94, respectively. Freshman Kiersten Wollenzien (Holland Landing, Ont.) earned the other first place victory for the Wildcats as she timed in at 5:08.06 in the 500-yard freestyle.
