Mann and Pelletier Claim Swimmer and Diver of the Week Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Ellen Pelletier (West Harford, Conn.) and freshman Katie Mann (Prince George, B.C.) of the University of New Hampshire women's swimming and diving team were honored as the America East Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

Mann, who has been tabbed America East Swimmer of the Week twice this season, paved the way for the 'Cats with a pair first-place finishes against Boston University (Jan. 16) at Swasey Pool. She set the pool record in the 400-yard IM with a time of four minutes and 25.83 seconds, notching the top time in the conference this season. Mann also took the top spot in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.85) and collected a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.37).

As for Pelletier, she picks up her third America East Diver of the Week honor this season, shattering the school record in the one-meter dive with a score of 290.47 to take the top spot in the event. She also finished third in the three-meter dive with a score of 250.80.

The Wildcats are back in action when they take on intrastate rival Dartmouth College on Saturday, Jan. 21 (1 p.m.) at Karl Michael Pool.
