WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLACES 24TH AT ECACS
PRINCETON, N.J.
– Freshman Laura Stern (Shirley, Mass.)
submitted a third-place finish to lead the University of New
Hampshire women’s outdoor track & field team to a
24th-place finish at the 59-team Eastern College
Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on May 15-17 at Princeton
University’s Weaver Track & Field Stadium.
The Wildcats finished with 12 points, while the University of
Connecticut won the meet with 88 points.
Stern, who won America East and New England titles in each of
the past two weeks, finished third in the javelin with an NCAA
Regional-qualifying throw of 46.15 meters.
Junior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.)
placed sixth in the hammer throw with an NCAA Regional-qualifying
toss of 54.70 meters.
Freshman Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.)
also submitted a sixth-place finish in the 10,000 meters in a time
of 37 minutes, 3.85 seconds.
Sophomore Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.)
finished ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.91
meters.
Classmate Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica,
Mass.) placed 16th in the 3000-meter steeplechase in a
time of 10:51.57.
Another sophomore, Megan Donohue (Stratham,
N.H.), finished 18th in the 400-meter hurdle preliminary
in 1:02.34.
Senior Sarah Hall (Nottingham, N.H.) placed
34th in the 200 meter preliminary in 25.46
seconds.
In the preliminary round, the 4x800-meter relay team of
sophomores Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova
Scotia), Claire Ciabotti (Cornwall, N.Y.),
Catherine Perella (Bedford, N.H.) and
Brittany Verville (Bow, N.H.) finished
11th in a time of 9:03.01.
The Wildcats return to action at the NCAA East Regional on May
29-30 at North Carolina A&T State University’s Aggie
Stadium.
