WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT BU VALENTINE INVITATIONAL
BOSTON - Junior Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) and senior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) recorded respective third- and fourth-place finishes to lead the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track and field team at the open and non-scoring BU Valentine Invitational Dec. 12-13 at the Track & Tennis Center. Donohue was third in the 51-runner 500 meters in a time of one minute, 16.15 seconds. Lahtrop, meanwhile, placed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 56 feet, 5.75 inches. Junior Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 17-9. On the track, junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) ran to a 12th-place finish in the 165-runner 800 meters in a time of 2:12.40. Senior Tracy Howell (Grafton, Mass.) was 30th in 2:16.39. Junior Chelsey Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.) finished 18th of 145 in the 400 meters in 57.66 seconds. Classmate Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) placed 31st in the 140-harrier mile run in a time of 5:09.61. The Wildcats return to action Feb. 19-20 at the America East Championships right back at the Track & Tennis Center.
