CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – University of New Hampshire women's outdoor track and field senior, Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.), was named America East Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 18, the conference announced Tuesday.
Lathrop remained dominant in the hammer throw, claiming her third straight title in the event at the Larry Ellis Invitational on April 17. Lathrop won the hammer throw with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 55.51m, which is the best throw in the conference this season. Her mark ranks 58th in the nation and is a new school record. Lathrop, who earns her third consecutive weekly honor, was also ninth in the discus at 35.37m.
UNH has now won all five Field Performer of the Week awards on the season, as Lathrop's classmate, Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.), earned the first two March 23 and 30. Overall, the Wildcats have earned 10 of the 20 weekly conference awards during the outdoor season – the most by any team.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, April 24 at 11 a.m. when they play host to the Wildcat Invitational III at the Reggie F. Atkins track.
