WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD NINTH AFTER DAY TWO AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior
Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) won an individual
title in the pole vault to lead the University of New Hampshire
women's outdoor track & field team to a ninth-place spot after
two days at the 35-squad ECAC Championships at Princeton's Weaver
Stadium.
The Wildcats have totaled 14 points, while Princeton (27), Rhode
Island (24) and William & Mary (23) are currently first, second
and third, respectively.
Ciambra captured her pole vault title by clearing a height of 4.05
meters.
Senior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) placed
fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 56.05m.
Sophomore Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.)
placed 10th in the 10,000m in a time of 36 minutes, 59.51
seconds.
Junior Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) finished
10th in the heptathlon after compiling 4,393 points.
Junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia)
finished 20th in the 800m in a time of 2:11.39.
The Wildcats' 4x400-meter relay team placed 15th in a time of
3:50.52. The 4x800 squad of senior Tracy Howell
(Grafton, Mass.), freshman Darcy James (Exeter,
N.H.) and juniors Jennifer Racine (Haverhill,
Mass.) and Brittany Verville (Bow, N.H.) was 19th
at 9:11.19.
The 'Cats return to action May 28-29 at the NCAA East Regional at
North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
