Women’s Track & Field Competes in Tri-Meet

DURHAM, N.H. The University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team won eight events as it played host to the University of Vermont and the University of Maine in a non-scoring tri-meet at the Paul Sweet Oval.

In the 55 meters, sophomore Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) and junior Elizabeth Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) placed first and second, respectively, in times of 7.37 seconds and 7.40.

The Wildcats' 4x400-meter relay team of Brehm, Adejuyigbe, freshman Kathryn Darmody (Westport, Mass.) and junior Lindsay Darmody (Westport, Mass.) finished first in a time of 4:15.81.

Senior Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) won the pole vault by clearing a height of 12-9.50.

Junior Melody Pothier (Lisbon, Conn.) was victorious on the weight throw with a toss of 53 feet, five inches. Pothier also finished seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 50-10.75 at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday.

Senior Meghan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) won the long jump with a leap of 17-6.

Junior Danica Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.) finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 36-3.50.

Senior Katherine Chwasciak (Webster, N.H.) finished first in the mile run in a time of 5:15.07.

In the 3,000 meters, freshman Anne Twombly (Exeter, N.H.) and sophomore Lucy Garfield (Hanover, N.H.) placed first and second, respectively, in times of 10:40.83 and 10:42.37.

Sophomore Meagan Boucher (Manchester, N.H.) finished second in the 600 meters in a time of 1:39.09.

The Wildcats return to action Feb. 18-19 at the America East Championships at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center.
