Outdoor Track & Field Competes at Sam Howell Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J.  – Seniors Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) and Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) turned in a pair of second-place finishes to pace the University of New Hampshire track & field team in day one of the Sam Howell Memorial Invitational Friday evening at Weaver Stadium.

Fitzpatrick crossed the finish line in a time of 10:33.32 to capture second-place in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Jesseman took second in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:51.24.

Junior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) also competed in the 5000 meters and claimed the second heat with a time of 17:33.29.

Senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) took home fourth-place in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:35.48.

On the men's side, graduate student Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) finished fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 59.92 meters.
The Wildcats return to action for day two of the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m.
