BOSTON – Graduate student Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) set a school record in the mile as select members of the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team took part in the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday evening at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Letourneau finished seventh in the 143-runner field in a time of 4:45.82, which broke the previous school record 4:49.80 set by Amy DeCamp in 2001. This marks the second school record set by Letourneau this season after she finished the 1,000 meters in a time of 2:48.16 at the UNH quad-meet, which also broke the Paul Sweet Oval facility record.
Junior Rosemary Read (West Greenwich, R.I.) turned-in a top-15 performance in the weight throw as she placed 13th overall in field of 44 with a toss of 49-01.00.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Feb. 11 when they play host to Vermont at the Paul Sweet Oval.
