PRINCETON, N.J. – Graduate student Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) set a school record in the 1,500 meters to the lead the University of New Hampshire women's track & field team on day one of the Larry Ellis Invitational Friday night at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium.
Letourneau finished ninth in a field of 63 runners in the elite division of the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish line in an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:24.57. The previous record was held by Amy DeCamp, who set the mark in 2002. Letourneau has now set five school records this year between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Junior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.), who also broke DeCamp's mark in the event, finished 12th overall with an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:26.47.
Sophomore Elise Beattie (Woodstock Ill.) placed 33rd overall in the elite division of the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:19.71.
