Casey Carroll
Casey Carroll, a 1994 graduate of UNH, returns for his 13th season guiding the UNH women’s track and field Program. During his tenure, the team has steadily worked its way to the top of the America East conference, New England and beyond. The 2010 season was arguably the best year in the history of the UNH women’s track and field program. At the ECAC Championship, the team finished eighth, its highest finish ever. The indoor team was also third at the America East Championship and fourth at the New England Championship. At the outdoor New England Championship, the Wildcats finished second and had five individual champions, while the outdoor America East Championship resulted in a third place finish for the ‘Cats. The 2009 campaign was also a very successful year. The indoor team finished third at both the America East Championship and the New England Championship. The outdoor team garnered a second-place finish at the America East Championship and another second-place finish at the New England Championship. At the indoor and outdoor ECAC Championships, a total of ten athletes achieved All-ECAC honors. In the last five years, UNH has sent numerous track and field athletes to compete at the NCAA Championships and the USATF Junior National Championships in the distance, hurdles, jumps and throws events. In the last nine years the team has placed in the top five at every Outdoor New England Championship. In 2008, Carroll was named New England Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year. In the last 10 years of the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country seasons, he has been on the America East Coaching Staff of the Year 13 times. Since his arrival, the team has set new school records in 28 different indoor and outdoor events. Carroll is a USATF Level II certified coach in all track and field disciplines. While a student at UNH, Carroll spent four years as a member of the track & field and cross country programs. A distance runner, Carroll was team captain for two years. His senior year, Carroll was a top-10 finisher at the North Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championship and All-Conference in the 5000 meters at the outdoor Track and Field Championship. In 1998, Carroll received his Master’s of Science degree in Psychology of Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Oregon. Carroll still is a competitive runner on the roads and was the winner of the Maine Marathon in 2003, the Eastern States 20-Miler in 2007 and the Hampton Rockfest Marathon in 2010.
