Wildcat Volleyball Players Honored

DURHAM, N.H.-- Junior outside hitter Katie Jentes (Madbury, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team earned America East Player of the Week for her efforts this weekend at the UConn Husky Classic in Storrs, Conn. On the weekend, Jentes tallied 56 kills, 33 digs eight total blocks and six service aces, which earned her a spot on the UConn All-Tournament team. Jentes led UNH with 24 kills and nine digs in a 2-3 loss to Harvard on Saturday afternoon. UNH went 2-2 on the weekend with wins over Southern Methodist and University of New Mexico. Jentes is currently sixth on the team in kills with 101 and fourth in hitting percentage at .214.

Junior setter Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) earned America East Setter of the Week with her strong showing at the UConn Classic. Barnett recorded 217 assists, 28 digs and five service aces in UNH's four matches this past weekend. Barnett leads the Cats' in assists with 654 and is second in digs with 145. Barnett won Setter of the Week on four occasions last year and is currently the UNH all-time leader in assists with 1,990.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, September 29 at 7 p.m. against intrastate rival Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.

UNH is currently 8-8 overall on the year and begin conference play in their next home match on October 16 vs. Towson University at 1 p.m.
