UNH Women's Volleyball Takes Out Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team extended its AMERICA EAST match winning streak to 21 with a 3-0 sweep of the University of Hartford Saturday afternoon at the SportCenter. The game scores were 15-6, 15-5, 15-9.

With the win, The 'Cats improve to 16-8 overall and have a perfect 6-0 conference record, while Hartford drops to 6-12 and 2-4 in America East play.

UNH received strong performances from junior outside hitter Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) who tallied eight kills and junior outside hitter Katie Jentes (Madbury, N.H.) who chipped in with seven kills. Senior middle hitter Bethany Cole (Canterbury, N.H.) made a match-high six blocks. Junior setter Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) added a match-high 29 assists.

Wildcat volleyball returns to action on Sunday, October 24 against America East rival Northeastern at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium.
