DURHAM, N.H. -The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team won its 22nd consecutive conference match with a 3-0 win over Northeastern University on Sunday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 15-11, 15-7 and 15-8.
The Wildcats are now 17-8 overall and a perfect 7-0 in America East play, while Northeastern drops to 15-9 overall and 5-2 in America East. UNH also has a nine match overall win streak and have not lost a game in six straight matches.
Senior co-captain Leisha Campbell (Oswego, N.Y.) paced the 'Cats tallying 11 kills, hitting at a .529 clip and recording four total blocks. Junior outside hitter Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) recorded a team-high 12 kills in the victory for the Wildcats. Junior setter Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had another solid performance with a match-high 38 assists leading the UNH offensive attack.
For the Huskies, sophomore outside hitter Kristin Deatherage notched at match-high 13 kills, while setter Lisa Nolan posted a team-high 29 assists.
The 'Cats return to action at home on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. against intrastate rival Dartmouth College at Lundholm Gymnasium.
