DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team defeated intra-state rival Dartmouth College, 3-1 on Wednesday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 15-7, 15-7, 10-15, 15-7. UNH is currently in the midst of a 10 match win streak with the win over the Big Green.
UNH is now 18-8 overall , while Dartmouth drops to 9-12 overall with the loss. The 'Cats swept the season series for the first time since 1984.
The Wildcats were paced by senior co-captain Bethany Cole (Canterbury, N.H.) who tallied a match-high 17 kills, hitting at a .419 clip and four total blocks. Junior outside hitter Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) had a solid night posting 10 kills and a match-high 13 digs. Leading the 'Cat attack, was junior setter Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) who notched 47 assists, along with eight digs.
For Dartmouth, Ashley Dean recorded a team-high eight kills and 10 digs, while setter Jordan Schmidt had 25 assists in the loss.
The 'Cats return to action this Saturday against Drexel at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium.
