DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team defeated the University of Maine, 3-0, on Wednesday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 15-2, 15-1 and 15-2. With the win the 'Cats improve to 21-11 overall and 10-2 in America East play.
UNH was led by freshman Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) who recorded a career and match-high nine kills. Knight also hit at a .533 clip and added a match-high three total blocks. Junior Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) chipped in with seven kills and notched a impressive .875 hitting percentage.
For the Black Bears, Sarah Haney and Dana Haeger each recorded two kills apiece.
The Wildcats return to action on the road on Saturday, Nov. 13 against Northeastern University at 4 p.m. in Boston, Mass. UNH's final regular season match is Sunday Nov. 14 vs. University of Hartford at 1p.m in Lundholm Gymnasium.
