UNH VOLLEYBALL TAKES OUT BOSTON COLLEGE

DURHAM, NH -- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team needed four games to defeat Boston College, 3-1 on Wednesday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 15-8, 10-15, 15-8, 15-8. With the win, the 'Cats improve to 4-4 overall on the season, while Boston College drops to 1-8.

The Wildcats received big performances from four members of the senior class. Outside hitter Katie Jentes (Madbury, N.H.) posted a team-high 18 kills, while classmate Jen Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) recorded 16 kills, seven digs and seven total blocks. Senior co-captain Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) quarterbacked the 'Cats offensive arsenal with a match-high 57 assists and six digs. Outside hitter Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) chipped in with 17 kills and 11 digs to lead the 'Cats to victory.

For Boston College, Lauren Schwer tallied a match-high 22 kills and added nine digs. Setter Kyleen Charlton kept BC in the match with a team-high 52 assists and 16 digs. Rachel Bach and Jeana Boyle posted 15 and 16 kills respectively.

The Wildcats return to action at the University of Illinois Tournament in Champaign, Ill on Friday, Sept. 15 at 6pm vs. host Illinois.
