DURHAM, NH -- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 0-3 in the consolation match of the State Farm Illini Classic on Saturday night at Huff Hall. With the loss the Wildcats place fourth in the State Farm Classic and drop to 4-6 overall on the year.
Senior outside hitter Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) had another solid performance with a match-high 12 kills. Senior co-captain Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) chipped in with eight kills and six digs in the losing effort.
For Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Larissa Cattanach tied Ross for a match-high 12 kills, while teammates Laura Dallenbach and Christy Schurla posted 11 kills apiece.
UNH returns to action on Friday, September 22 to face St. Peter's in the opening round of the Rutgers Tournament in New Brunswick, N.J.
