NEWARK, Del. ----- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team took the final two sets from the University of Delaware to erase a 2-1 deficit in Friday night's five-set America East victory. The game scores were 10-15, 15-10, 11-15, 15-9, 15-8.
UNH improves to 12-8 overall and 3-1 in the conference while Delaware is now 9-13, 2-4.
Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) led the 'Cats attack with a team-high 22 kills to go along with an impressive .500 hitting percentage. Coler committed just one error on 42 attacks. Also playing well for UNH were Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) with 59 assists and 17 digs, Katie Jentes (Madbury, N.H.) with 16 kills and Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) with 14 kills and 13 digs.
New Hampshire returns to action Saturday (Oct. 14, 1 p.m.) at Towson. The 'Cats continue the road trip Sunday (1 p.m.) at Drexel. Next home match is Oct. 21 versus Hartford.
