Philadelphia, Pa. -- UNH volleyball coach Jill Hirschinger recorded her 500th career coaching win with a victory over Drexel University, 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Physical Education Athletic Center. The game scores were 15-3, 12-15, 15-8 and 15-9.

Since Hirschinger's arrival at UNH in 1996 she has amassed 91 wins, including three straight years with 20 or more victories. Hirschinger currently has a .611 winning percentage and is in her 22 year of coaching volleyball. Prior to arriving at UNH, Hirschinger spent five years at Drake University and 12 years at Ferris State University.

With the victory UNH improves to 14-8 overall and 4-1 in America East play.

In the match, senior co-captain Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) tallied a match-high 14 kills and 21 digs, while classmate Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) recorded 11 kills and 12 digs. Senior setter Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) led the 'Cat attack with 32 assists and a match-high 22 digs.

UNH returns to action at home on Sat., Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. vs. the University of Hartford at Lundholm Gymnasium. On Sunday, Oct. 22 UNH faces conference foe Hofstra University at 1p.m. at Lundholm Gymnasium. UNH has deemed that day as "PACK THE ARENA DAY" and looks to set an America East record of 1,000 fans at the Hofstra match.
