HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Hofstra University posted a 3-1 victory over the University of New Hampshire in volleyball action here this afternoon. The game scores were 15-9, 15-9, 10-15 and 15-6. The win clinches the America East regular season crown for the Pride and improves them to 20-10 and 15-0 in America East. New Hampshire now stands at 21-10 and 12-3 in the league.

Senior Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) led the Wildcats with a career-high 29 kills. The school record for kills in a match is 30 set by Bethany Cole in 1997. Ross also had 13 digs. Sophomore Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) recorded 18 kills while senior Jennifer Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) had 10. Senior Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had 67 assists, while freshman Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) had 16 digs.

Hofstra was led by Brie Katz, who tied a Hofstra record with 72 assists.

The Wildcats close out the regular season tomorrow (11/12) when they travel to West Hartford, Conn. to face the University of Hartford. Game time is 1:00 p.m. Next weekend the 'Cats will take part in the America East volleyball championship at Hofstra, with the semifinals on Saturday, November 18 and the final Sunday, November 19. Pairings and game times will be announced early next week.
