New Hampshire Volleyball dropped by Towson, 3-1

TOWSON, Md. - The University of New Hampshire volleyball team fell to first-place Towson University 3-1 Saturday in America East action at the Towson Center.

The Tigers (24-1) remain undefeated in America East at 9-0, while the Wildcats (13-8, 6-3 AE) fall to Towson for the second time this season. The game scores were 30-27, 26-30, 30-22 and 30-25.

Despite the loss, Sophomore Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) and freshman Bonnie Wilson (Moraga, Calif.) played brilliantly with 21 kills apiece. Coler put down 21 kills on 52 attack attempts with just three errors for a .346 hitting percentage. She also picked up 15 digs along the way. Wilson had just four errors on 52 attempts for a .327 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high 16 digs.

Sarah Miller led the Tigers with 17 kills and 19 digs. Jordan Tomasek had a game-high 23 digs.

Freshman Kerin Mackanin (Bartlett, Ill.) finished the match with 34 assists and sophomore Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lake, N.J.) had 12 digs. Sophomore Chelsea Hammer (Eden Prarie, Minn.) had four solo blocks.

The 'Cats return to action Oct. 28 at Drexel University (1 p.m.).
