UNH VOLLEYBALL PERSEVERES THROUGH PRAGUE FLOODING

Durham, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team played its first two matches in Prague, Czech Republic on Wednesday, Aug. 14th in the first stop of their Eastern European Tour.

In the first match, the Wildcats defeated the Slavia Praha Juniors (Ages 17-19), 3-2. The game scores were 14-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 16-14. Junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) posted 12 kills, while senior captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) registered 12 kills and seven digs. Freshman middle hitter Amy Dai (Calgary, Alberta) and junior middle hitter Chelsea Hammer (Eden Prairie, Minn.) notched seven total blocks apiece, while junior Annie Davis (Groveland, Ill.) tallied 32 assists in the victory.

In the second match, UNH was defeated by Olympia Praha (Ages 22-30), 3-0. The game scores were 14-25, 14-25, 13-25. Knight recorded a team-high seven kills and junior middle hitter Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) registered five total blocks.

The team continues its Eastern European tour until Aug. 22 and begins the season Friday, Aug. 30 vs. the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
