UNH VOLLEYBALL CONTINUES TRIP IN EASTERN EUROPE

Durham, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team has played five matches of the Eastern European Tour with a 1-3 loss against the Prague Third Degree on Friday, August 16 and a 1-3 loss to Brno on Saturday Aug.17. Both matches were played in the Czech Republic

With the two losses the Wildcats drop to 2-3 on the Eastern European Trip.

In the Third Degree match, the Wildcats received strong performances from junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.), who posted a team-high 12 kills and added six digs, while senior captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) recorded another solid outing on the trip with 11 kills and eight digs. Junior co-captain Sasha Scott (North Branford, Conn.) registered a team-high 18 digs in the loss and junior setter Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) turned in a balanced match with seven kills, 29 assists, 10 digs and two blocks.

In the Brno match, Coler notched nine kills and nine digs, while sophomore Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) tallied a team-high 14 digs.

After touring in Vienna, Austria the Wildcats return to action Monday, Aug. 19 with a match in Linz, Austria.

The team continues its Eastern European tour until Aug. 22 and begins the season Friday, Aug. 30 vs. the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
