UNH VOLLEYBALL FINISHES EUROPEAN TRIP WITH VICTORY

DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team finished its trip with a 3-1 win in Sonthofen, Germany on Aug. 21 to even the Wildcats' record to 4-4 in eight matches on their Eastern European Tour.

Senior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) closed out the trip with a team-high 13 kills and 16 digs, while junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) posted 11 kills and 12 digs in the Wildcat victory. Junior setters Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Annie Davis (Groveland, Ill.) registered 19 and 14 assists, respectively. Sophomore defensive specialist Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) added 12 digs in a strong defensive game for the Wildcats.

Both Coler and Knight led the Wildcats with 87 kills apiece in eight matches on the trip and Knight also led UNH with 87 digs on the trip. Coler and Williams finished the trip with 74 and 73 digs, respectively.

The UNH women's volleyball team returns to New Hampshire on Aug. 22 and begins the 2002 regular season Friday, Aug. 30 vs. the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
