UNH VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO PACIFIC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team dropped to 0-2 on the year with a 0-3 loss to No. 12 ranked University of the Pacific on Saturday, Aug. 31 in its second match of the Utah Classic at Crimson Court. The game scores were 17-30, 24-30 and 26-30. The Wildcats' first two matches of the season have come against top 25 opponents.

UNH received another strong performance from junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.), who registered a team-high 11 kills and chipped in with 10 digs. Senior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) turned in a solid performance with 10 kills and four digs, while sophomore outside hitter Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) recorded seven kills, three digs and three total blocks. Junior setter Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) posted 23 assists in the loss and junior co-captain Sasha Scott (North Branford, Conn.) turned in a strong defensive performance with a game-high 13 digs.

The Wildcats return to action tonight (Aug. 31) at 5 p.m. as they take on Murray State in their last match of the Utah Classic. The Wildcats' home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Lundholm Gymnasium against the College of the Holy Cross. Match time is 7 p.m.
