BOSTON -- Junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team has been named America East Player of the Week for the second consecutive week as announced by the America East conference Tuesday afternoon.

Coler posted 69 kills and owned a .287 hitting percentage in three matches this week, including a career-high and school record 38 kills vs. Northeastern on Oct. 8. Her kill total in the Northeastern match was the second highest total in all of Division I volleyball this year. Coler averaged 5.75 kills per game on the week and also added six service aces and 29 digs.

She leads the 'Cats with 383 kills on the year and ranks second in America East at 4.61 kills per game. Coler is 103 kills shy of the single-season school record of 485 kills set by former Wildcat Beth Cole in 1997. Aly ranks second on UNH's all-time career kill list with 1,079 kills. In the last two weeks, Coler has posted 105 kills in five matches and is averaging 5.53 kills per game.

The Wildcat volleyball team owns a 12-10 record on the year and currently occupies second place in the America East standings with a 2-1 record in conference play. The Wildcats return to action at the University of Maine on Friday, Oct. 18 in their only match of the week.
