DURHAM, N.H. - Lauren Knight (Cape Cod, Mass.) led the University of New Hampshire volleyball team with 17 kills and five blocks as the Wildcats defeated Albany 3-2 in America East action at Lundholm Gymnasium Friday evening. The game scores were 30-28, 30-23, 25-30, 21-30, 15-13.
Besides Knight, New Hampshire (14-10, 4-1 AE) was led by Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) (15 kills), Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) (14 kills, 16 assists) and Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) (11 kills, 7 blocks). Anne Davis (Groveland, Ill.) recorded 44 assists.
The Great Danes were led by Alissa Gibbs, who posted a match-high 18 kills. Jill Dombrowski registered 49 assists for Albany (12-10, 2-3 AE).
With the win, the Wildcats extended their winning streak to four games and UNH has now won nine of its last 10. New Hampshire recorded a total of 14 team blocks, eight of those coming in the first game.
The Wildcats are back in action Saturday (Oct. 26) when they host the Bearcats of Binghamton University. Game time at Lundholm Gymnasium is 4 p.m.
