MADISON, WISC. - The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was defeated by No. 17 ranked Wisconsin, 3-0, in the Badger Invitational at the Wisconsin Field House on Friday, August in the season opener. The game scores were 30-18, 30-28 and 30-18.

The Wildcats were led statistically by senior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) who posted a team-high 10 kills and chipped in with six digs on defense. Senior co-captain Anne Davis (Groveland, Ill.) and freshman setter Katie Weidner (Warrenville, Ill.) shared time quarterbacking the 'Cats offense registering 15 and 12 assists respectively.

Sophomore middle hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) tallied eight kills and six digs, while senior co-captain Sasha Scott (North Branford, Conn.) notched a team-high 14 digs in a solid defensive performance.

The Wildcats played their best game in the second stanza, scoring 28 points with 15 kills and a .146 hitting percentage.

The UNH volleyball team continues play at the Badger Invitational on Saturday, August 30 with a 10 a.m. match against Washington and a 5 p.m. match vs. Missouri-Kansas City.
