Wildcat volleyball downed by Connecticut, 3-0

STORRS, Conn.- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of Connecticut, 3-0 on Tuesday night at Gampel Pavilion. The game scores were 30-25, 30-19, 30-18.

UNH with the loss drops to 1-3 on the season, while the Huskies improve to 1-3 in the young season.

The Wildcats were paced by senior co-captain Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) who posted a team-high 10.5 points and eight kills, while juniors Karen Harrington (Windham, N.H.) and Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) notched seven kills apiece. Walker also added seven digs, while Otte and Harrington each registered three blocks.

Senior libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) posted 14 digs in the match and needs only three digs to become the sixth member of UNH's 1,000 dig club.

UNH returns to action on Friday, Sept 10 against Siena at the Big Orange Tournament in Syracuse, N.Y. The Wildcats' next home game is Friday, October 8 vs. Maryland Baltimore-County. Match time is 7 p.m. at Lundholm Gym. The match will be broadcast live on the radio by the UNH Sports Network.
