Wildcat volleyball defeated twice at Fairfield Invite

FAIRFIELD, CONN.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost to St. Louis University, 3-0 in its final match of the Fairfield Invitational at Alumni Hall on Saturday night. The game scores were 23-30, 19-30 and 20-30.

Junior outside hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) posted 10 kills for the Wildcats in the loss to the Billikens, while senior co-captain Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) recorded eight kills and a .300 hitting percentage.

Freshman outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alb.) tallied seven kills vs. St. Louis and was named to the Fairfield Invitational All-Tournament Team for her efforts over the weekend.

In the early match of the day, the Wildcats fell to Temple, 3-2. The game scores were 30-25, 30-23, 14-30, 31-33 and 12-15.

Walker once again led the Wildcat offense vs. the Owls, with a match-high 18 kills and 14 digs. Blouin amassed 13 kills, 11 digs and a season-high .294 hitting percentage in the match. Otte had a solid match with 10 kills, while sophomore setter Katie Weidner (Warrenville, Ill.) posted 43 assists, five digs and three blocks quarterbacking UNH's offense.

Senior libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) finished with a team-high 21 digs in the loss The Wildcats (4-10 overall) return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 28th against Big East foe Boston College (7 p.m.) at Power Gym in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
