DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was defeated by the University of Maine, 3-1, on Tuesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. The games scores were 27-30, 27-30, 30-22 and 20-30.
The Wildcats were paced by freshman outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) who posted a career-high and match-high 19 kills in the loss. Barnas also added seven digs and hit for a team-high .217 hitting percentage.
Senior co-captain Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) and junior outside hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) each posted 10 kills in the loss for the Wildcats.
Sophomore setter Katie Weidner (Warrenville, Ill.) registered 44 assists running the Wildcat offense and on the defensive side of the ball, senior libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) recorded a match-high 20 digs.
Maine was led by Carmen Morgan and Kaili Jordan who notched 14 and 12 kills respectively. Leah Guidinger also added 10 kills, while setter Shelly Seipp posted a match-high 48 assists. Jordan also finished the match with a team-high 18 digs and libero Jody Connacher posted 17 digs.
UNH returns to action Friday, Oct. 29 at Stony Brook University (7 p.m.)
