UNH volleyball downed by Albany, 3-1

DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was defeated by University at Albany, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium in the final match of the regular season. The games scores were 27-30, 30-18, 27-30 and 26-30.

With the loss, the Wildcats end their season with a 9-20 overall mark and a 5-9 record in America East play, while Albany, the No. 1 seed in next week's America East playoffs, improved to 25-6 and 13-1 in conference matches.

Junior outside hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) led the 'Cats statistically with 17 kills, four aces and a .233 hitting percentage. Senior co-captain Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) notched 12 kills, five digs and hit at a .265 clip. Freshman outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) registered 15 kills, 12 digs and a team-high .303 hitting percentage.

Sophomore setter Katie Weidner (Warrenville, Ill.) registered 46 assists running the Wildcat offense and on the defensive side of the ball, senior libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) recorded a team-high 15 digs.

Otte and Williams played in their final matches as Wildcats and they were honored prior to the match on senior day. Williams leaves UNH as the program's all-time dig leader with 1,398 in her four-year career, while Otte amassed 834 kills, 385 digs and 362 blocks in her time at UNH.
