DURHAM, N.H.-- Freshman outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was named Rookie of the Week as announced by the America East conference on Monday afternoon.
Blouin registered 29 kills and 4.14 kills per game in two matches last week, including 15 kills in the loss to top-ranked Albany and 14 kills in a 3-0 win vs. Binghamton on Friday night. She also hit for a team-high .328 hitting percentage on the week.
Blouin, who played in all 29 matches for UNH, ranked third on the Wildcats with 260 kills in her first season at UNH and she also finished the year with 182 digs, which was fifth best on the 'Cats roster. Blouin recorded 10+ kills on 11 occasions in her first season in Durham and tallied a career-high 19 kills Oct. 5th at Maine.
The UNH volleyball team (9-20 overall, 5-9 America East) ended its season on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to Albany at Lundholm Gymnasium.
