Wildcat volleyball opens spring season at Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team opened its spring season on Saturday afternoon at Boston College. The Wildcats owned a 4-3 record during seven games of the tournament.

UNH defeated UConn (30-27), Team Boston (30-27), Wellesley (30-21), Maine (30-24) and lost to Boston College (23-30), Northeastern (23-30) and Rhode Island (24-30).

Junior outside hitter Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) led the way offensively for the Wildcats with 26 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) registered 26 digs in a solid defensive effort. Sophomore middle blocker Jess Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) hit at a .344 clip and amassed 13.5 blocks for the tournament.

Freshman setter Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) ran UNH's offense posting 55 assists over the weekend.
