DURHAM, N.H.-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team defeated Bentley College in an exhibition match on Tuesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 30-23, 30-20, 30-26 and 30-27.
The 'Cats were led statistically by sophomore outside hitter Jeanne Czipri, (Aurora, Ill.) who posted 10 kills and a .292 hitting percentage in the match.
Senior outside hitter Katie Steffens (Monroe, Conn.) and senior middle hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) registered nine kills apiece, while sophomore Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) notched seven kills in the win for the Wildcats. Blouin also tallied a team-high 11 digs and junior Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) once again quarterbacked the Wildcat offense with 34 assists and 11 digs.
UNH posted a match-high .303 team hitting percentage in game three. Eight of nine Wildcats that played in the match recorded at least one kill.
The UNH volleyball team returns to action in Milwaukee, Wisc. on Friday, Sept. 2 (10:30 a.m.) in the opening day of the Marquette Tournament. The Wildcats will officially open their home schedule at Lundholm Gym on Tuesday, Sept. 6 (7 p.m.) against the 2004 defending national champions Stanford University on the fifth annual "Pack the Arena Night" as the Wildcats try to break their attendance record of 1,949 fans set on Oct. 22, 2000 vs. Hofstra.
