REHN NAMED WILDCAT VOLLEYBALL MVP AT ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
    DURHAM, N.H. – Senior captain Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2006 team awards banquet at Holloway Commons on the UNH campus on Saturday night.
    Rehn was named an America East All-Conference First-Team selection in her senior year posting 376 kills which ranked second on the Wildcats roster and was the 10th best single-season total in school history. Rehn finished her Wildcat career with 570 career kills and she was one of only three athletes in school history to post 30+ kills in a match. She also ranked seventh among America East player with 3.84 kills per game.
    Junior middle blocker Jess Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) was the recipient of the Ed Jentes Coaches’ Award, while sophomore Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) earned the Judy Ray Academic Excellence Award, given annually to the Wildcat with the highest GPA on the team.
    In addition to the awards, UNH introduced senior outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.), Compton and freshmen setter Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) as its tri-captains for the 2007 season, which were already announced previously in February.
